Student Notices - Jun. 20, 2023

We would like to begin by acknowledging and thanking the First Peoples of the Hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ language groups on whose traditional and unceded territories we teach, learn and live.

Hey Cambie, SHARE here with an important message! June is Pride and Indigenous Heritage Month. Here is your daily fact: Susan Point is one of the first female Coast Salish artists to have achieved wide recognition and is an influential figure among Northwest Coast artists. Her artwork often included the symbols of the spindle whorl which was traditionally used by Coast Salish women to spin wool for weaving.

Aloha Cambie! Today is Tropical Tuesday and everyone who dressed up looks just about ready to hop on a plane to the Bahamas…Just need to choose which swimsuit to bring. A reminder that tomorrow is Indigenous Heritage Day. A day to celebrate the history, resilience, and diversity of all those here in Canada before us.

Salut Cambie. Tomorrow, June 21st, the Cambie French class will be holding a CAR WASH after school to fundraise for their trip to Quebec next Spring. Payment is a donation of at least $15 in cash and you are welcome to hang out and enjoy complimentary refreshments while you wait.

Hello Cambie Students. There are many students with overdue library books and Semester 1 textbooks. Following students, please return the textbooks as you will not be receiving your yearbook until they are returned: Draven Dunham, Van Kim, Mia King, Eleonora Semprini and Anmol Sidhu.

And now, a Wee Limerick from your Friendly Neighbourhood Art Department: There once was a teacher named Foster,

Who had lots of kids on her roster.

She pled from her heart:

'Pick up your darn ART!'…‘Cuz the trips to the dumpster exhaust her!

Claim your Art by the end of the day on Thursday!

Would the following students please come to the office for messages:  Jaden Johal, Tina Huynh, Sonia Parmar, Karleen Dhariwal.
