Well-being and feedback
Our Cambie RIS team’s focus became well-being and our inquiry question was: How is the pandemic and the resulting quarter system affecting the overall, social and physical well-being of students in our Cambie School community? So, we then complementing the district RIS survey with a school-based (Cambie) well-being survey, truly kickstarting our team travels into a spiral of inquiry journey. As a team, we quicly decided that we needed to address some of the mental health concerns that resulted from the pandemic, quarter system, health & safety guidelines, which in turn created a lack of celebrations, milestones, and energy in our building. After implementing a few initiatives (i.e. end of quarter celbration carts, grad photo opportunity, intentional tech-free breaks, outdoor breaks, Moodmeter, etc.), we surveyed our students about how they were feeling.
