Student Announcements - January 31, 2025
We would like to begin by acknowledging and thanking the First Peoples of the Hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ language groups on whose traditional and unceded territories we teach, learn and live.
Hey Cambie students, it's reading Riot time again! For those who don't know reading riot is a yearly reading contest. Come to the library and read some great books from great authors. The contest is on now, and will run until April 04, and it's easy to join! Read as many of the 12 titles as you wish. As you finish each book, fill out a ballot in the library, rating your book from 1-5 stars. Every Friday, a ballot is drawn and one participant wins a prize, so come and join in on the fun!
This year our Yearbook will feature photos of SIBLINGS, COUSINS, and FAMILY! We would love to capture this for our yearbook. If you are interested, please come to Room B114 (Ms. Chien's room) during PLT or lunch on February 4th for a yearbook photo! If you bring in an old group photo of yours, the yearbook crew will be happy to do a recreation shot for you! See you there!
Come down to the library during PLT Tuesday Feb. 4 and learn how to make your own paracord bracelet! We have lots of colours and you will take your bracelet home with you! Drop in to the library to see and example and let Mr. Ryan know that you are coming!
Do you have a Crush on someone? Or maybe there's a friend you truly admire and want to show your appreciation for? Well, now’s your chance! From February 3rd to 10th, come by at lunch and purchase a can of Crush to be delivered to that special someone on February 13th during Block C—just in time for Valentine’s Day! Don't miss out on this fun way to spread some kindness (or maybe even a little romance)! See you at lunch!

Contact @cambie_crochet_club if you have any questions! See you there!
Good morning Cambie, it’s world Hijab Day! A day recognized to spread awareness and understanding about the hijab and the women who choose to wear it. This day is about modesty, faith, and identity for many Muslim women. Whether or not you wear a hijab, today is a great opportunity to learn, ask respectful questions, and support inclusivity in our school and beyond. Let’s continue to foster an environment where everyone feels respected and valued for who they are! Please join us in the rotunda at lunchtime to learn more about the hijab.
