Grade 8 Student Schedule

The Grade 8 program at Cambie is designed to meet BC Ministry of Education requirements and to give students a broad range of educational experiences. Grade 8 students are enrolled in a standard program comprised of seven prescribed classes plus one elective.

1. English Language Arts 8
2. Social Studies 8
3. Physical and Health Education 8
4. Math 8 
5. Science 8
6. French 8
7. Applied Design, Skills & Technology (Home Economics/Technical Education)
   • Students spend time in six applied skills areas of study including foods, textiles, woodwork, computers, electronics, and drafting.        
8. Fine Arts Elective
   • Each grade 8 student selects one of the following:
     • Band 8
     • Guitar 9
     • Choir 8
     • Art 8
     • Drama 8
9. Career Education 8 (completed off-schedule using our online platform "My Blueprint")
