Student Announcements - October 7, 2025

We would like to begin by acknowledging and thanking the First Peoples of the Hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ language groups on whose traditional and unceded territories we teach, learn and live.

It’s Mental Wellness Awareness Week, today’s tip is taking a deep breath.  It sounds simple but it can make all the difference.  Deep breathing brings oxygen into your brain and your body and helps increase your ability to regulate your emotions and think clearly.  Remember square breathing?  It’s not a joke it’s a fact.  Try it today.

If you missed the pick up in homeroom for Student ID Cards, Immunization Forms, or Photo Orders – please pick them up in the office.

Any boys in grades 10-12 interested in playing basketball this year, there will be an open gym this Friday at 3:00

Could all students who signed up to be Library Monitors please attend a training session on Friday October 10 at lunch in the library. 

Until further notice, the green screen room in the library is closed due to vandalism.

Attention Cambie students: The University of Alberta will be visiting Cambie TODAY, after school. Please stop by their booth at the Rotunda to learn more.

Our first Richmond School District event, the Global Post-Secondary Fair, is on Wednesday, October 8th, from 4 to 6 pm at Steveston-London Secondary.

If you’re curious about post-secondary options outside BC, be sure to check it out!

Attention Grade 12 students:

The Loran Scholarship application is due October 16, 2025.

This award looks for students who show leadership, character, and community service.

If you are interested in applying, please make sure to complete and submit your application before the deadline.

Ms Koo is hosting a meditation session on Tuesdays during PLT in the library conference room.  Please sign up if you want to feel more empowered in regulating your thoughts and emotions.  No experience necessary.
