Student Announcements - September 24, 2025

We would like to begin by acknowledging and thanking the First Peoples of the Hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ language groups on whose traditional and unceded territories we teach, learn and live.

Ms Koo is hosting a meditation session on Tuesdays during PLT in the library conference room.  Please sign up if you want to feel more empowered in regulating your thoughts and emotions.  No experience necessary.

There is an international meeting this Thursday at lunch in the library.  All international students should make an effort to be present at this meeting .

Congratulations to the boy's soccer team who won their second game against MacNeill 3-1. Their next game is Thursday against McMath. Good luck!

Are you looking for a Volunteer opportunity?  Would you like to work with a team of volunteers and staff to deliver the YWCA's Guide to Highschool program with a fully prepared curriculum.  You would facilitate games and discussions about friendship, healthy habits, extracurriculars, bullying and other related topics.  Sessions will be held here at Cambie October 22-Dec 10.  the commitment is 3 hours per week. Wednesdays from 3-5:30pm.  check out the QR code on posters around the school and on the office window.

It’s that time again! The Post-Secondary BC Fair is coming to Cambie on Friday, September 26th. All grades please attend the fair in the rotunda at lunch. Grade 10 to 12 students must attend the 2 afternoon sessions or see your counsellor for assistance. If you haven’t registered for your sessions, please refer to the email you received. see you there!

Lights, cameras, action! Hey Cambie! Cambie Theatre is hosting the auditions for our annual play from Tuesday, Sept 23 to Friday, Sept 26. Sign-ups close Friday Sept 26 and are posted on the drama room door. We hope to see you all there!

 

Attention girls in Grades 10–12! On Friday, October 10, Canadian Construction Women (CCW) will host Build Her Future — a career discovery event at KPU Richmond Campus. Explore exciting careers in architecture, engineering, trades, project management, and business. Highlights include a keynote speaker, interactive career panel, SkilledTradesBC session on free training, plus gifts, prizes, and free lunch. To join, register through your school Career Information Advisor. Deadline is Thursday, September 25th.

Attention all students who can speak readd and write another language.

Language Challenge Exams are available as a way for students to earn credit for additional languages they can speak read and write.

The languages that are eligible are: ASL 11 (American Sign Language), Farsi 11 & 12, French 11 & 12, Japanese 11 & 12, Korean 11 & 12, Mandarin 11 & 12, Punjabi 11 & 12, Spanish 11 & 12

If you are interested in writing an exam to earn elective credit towards your graduation please see your counsellor for application information.  If you speak a language that is not listed please visit your counsellor to discuss your situation.

Hello Cambie Coyotes.  There will be a meeting for all students interested in being a Library Monitor on Monday Sept. 29 at Lunch in the library.  We will be discussing the work done, training and the time commitment. If you have any questions, please ask Mr. Ryan or Ms. Alcarraz.
