Student Announcements - April 3, 2025
We would like to begin by acknowledging and thanking the First Peoples of the Hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ language groups on whose traditional and unceded territories we teach, learn and live.
Attention grade 12s, due to low submission numbers and payments, we are extending the window to complete valedictory write ups and make payments to attend the ceremony by 1 week. The extended deadline will be next Wednesday, April 9. Please make sure to make payment and complete your write up if you wish to attend your graduation ceremony.
Also, a reminder to al grade 10s that the Provincial Numeracy Assessment is next Tuesday, April 8 at 8:30am. The assigned room numbers are now posted on the wall next to the office. Please make sure over the next few days, before the assessment, check where you have been assigned to write it. Please see Ms. Hui if you have any questions.
We are nearing the end of The Reading Riot! Friday April 4 is the last day to get in on the action! We have drawn our last weekly winner and it is Adrie Chan!!! Come down to the library and claim your prize! And all Riot students!!! Listen for the announcement of the pizza party and and final Prizes!!!
The 2025 Spring Fling Dance is here! Join us on April 17 at 6 PM for a tropical-themed night of fun. Tickets are $5 and include food, drinks, a floral lei, and a glowstick. Sales run from March 31 to April 11 in the Rotunda and on School Cash Online.

Attention students interested in obtaining their Foodsafe Level 1 certification: There will be a mandatory meeting on Thursday, April 10th, during lunch in Room D145 (Foods Room). Students must bring a $45 cash or cheque to Cambie Secondary on that day to register, as this will be the only opportunity to sign up. The Foodsafe Level 1 session is scheduled for June 23rd and 24th from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Please note that the session will only take place if there is sufficient interest. Students attending the Fashion Show Field Trip on Wednesday, April 9th, must attend a brief mandatory meeting on Monday after school in the Textiles Room.

Staff, students, and visitors may have severe heath reactions to strong scents such as perfumes, colognes, shampoos, and heavily scented items. Please be aware of this information as you get ready for school. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our school air healthy and fragrance-free.
Congratulations to the girls rugby team for picking up a big win on their first day of action yesterday. The girls played with much toughness, and showed great resiliency. A special shout-out to Preet Grewal for opening the scoring on the season, Tanveer Grewal for scoring, and Thea Gaspar who scored not once, but twice. A note that Shaiya Renshi converted our first kick of the season as well. If any girls are interested in trying out rugby, our next practice is Today at 3:30. Intramurals is back! We have our next league ready to go; it will be 4 on 4 volleyball. What is intramurals? It is a fun, exciting activity at lunch. Create a team with friends, and play against other teams made up of other Cambie students. Sign-up sheets are available in the PE Office. Team registration is due by Thursday, April 17th. Please come by (Room B114) to collect your masterpieces this Thursday during Lunch Time or After School (between 3:00-3:30pm). Important Reminder: Any unclaimed artwork will be donated to the Vancouver Art Gallery for educational purposes. Don’t miss out—come grab your art and take it home!
Attention all students interested in taking Online summer school, registration is now available on the Richmond Virtual School website. You must create an account to register. If you need help please see your counsellor.
Please note in person face to face summer school course registration will be available in late April with registration typically being in mid-May.
Here’s an announcement from the Cambie Community Centre: Are you looking for a fun place to hang out with your friends? Maybe meet new people? Or do fun activities? Well, every Friday from 6-8:30pm at Cambie Community Centre feel welcome to attend their late Volleyball, or Basketball drop in. Only a Valid Active Pass is required, and everyone is welcome! 16+ are encouraged to stay longer for the late LATE-night sport drop in from 9:00 – 11:30pm. Government ID and a fee of $3.30 is required. Or you can check out Cambie’s Friday Night hangout offered in the games room from 6:00 – 9:00pm also free with a valid active pass.
