Happy Monday Coyotes and Happy National AccessAbility Week! Did you know that living with a disability is expensive and not all aids, devices of prescription medicine is funded. This leaves 1.6 million Canadians unable to have their medical needs meet and for some leaves their disability supports unattainable. Cambie how can you make Canada, the community, and our school Cambie more inclusive? Start by wearing red on Wednesday, May 31st!

 

Hey Cambie! May is Asian History Month. Did you know that Russian ballet is different from other forms of ballet as it features more high extensions and dynamic turns? Russian ballet is also famous for the creation of Swan Lake.

 

This week is Bike to School Week! If you bike, roll, or scooter to school, you will get a ballot to enter into a contest for fabulous prizes including a $50 gift card to Caps Cycles, two one-month fitness passes and two 10-card sport visit cards to the Cambie Community Centre. If you miss seeing an Ecosaver to get a ballot, please come to room C213 (Mrs's Law's room) to get a ballot. In addition, we are pleased to confirm that we have secured a "Bike Check up" this week for 20 bikes. Stay tuned for more information.

 

A reminder that tomorrow/today is the cheer team's second and last skill clinic before tryouts, all those trying out, please be in the rotunda and ready BEFORE 3:30pm. See you all there!

 

For students who are interested in obtaining a FOODSAFE level 1 certificate, there is a mandatory meeting on June 1st, Thursday, at lunch in room D148. Students must bring a $45 cheque on the day to sign up.  This is your only chance to sign up.  FOODSAFE sessions will be held on June 26th & 27th from 9am-1pm.  Please see Ms. Chen if you have any questions.

Hey grads! Don’t forget to buy tickets for dinner dance AND dry grad - which are two very special and exciting events of our whole senior year! Just a reminder that the price for the tickets to dry grad have been LOWERED to $50 and you can pay for them through SchoolCashOnline, so hurry because you don't want to miss out!!

Hi Cambie, the valedictory ceremony at UBC Chan centre is on Friday, June 9th. Many grade12 students have not yet purchased the tickets to attend the ceremony. The purchase includes a gown, cap, plus 2 entrance tickets. The deadline to purchase tickets is Friday, June 2nd. Please use your schoolcashonline or see Ms. Mundie.

 

Attention seniors! I’m sure you’ve all noticed the beautiful car that’s parked in the middle of the rotunda! Applewood Nissan has graciously donated a car that will be going to ONE OF US. All you have to do is submit an application explaining how the car would benefit you. Applications are due June 16th, so get them in if you want that car!

 

Hey hey hey Cambie! Want to show off your amazing talents with the entire school while supporting the Richmond Food Bank? Well, you’re in luck, Student Council and Rec Leadership 12 will be hosting our very own Cambie’s Got Talent on June 2nd! You have until the end of TODAY, Monday, May 29th to sign up. We have limited prizes and signups, so Check Student Council’s Instagram account to sign up for a performance. For audience members, please bring a non-perishable food item or $1 to show your support for the Richmond Food Bank! We’ll catch you there Cambie!
