Hey Cambie, today is day 3 of Waste Reduction Week! It’s E-Waste Wednesday and we have some more facts about how our waste impacts the environment. On average, consumers keep cell phones for only 2 years before they trade them in or throw them out. E-waste is hazardous material. Over time, electronics can leak toxic elements, like mercury and lead, which can be harmful the environment and humans. What can you do? Purchasing smartly designed products meant to be reused, refurbished, and dismantled can make a huge difference in your E-waste footprint. For more information, please visit WRWCanada.com. That was our waste reduction tip for E-waste Wednesday, brought to you by Ecosavers. Wear green or blue tomorrow to show support for this year’s waste reduction and bring your e-waste for recycling collection!
