Course Description

Grades 10-12

This course focuses on the teaching of technical and mechanical skills in writing.  Students will concentrate on acquiring a functional vocabulary, reinforcing and refining grammar skills, and applying language structure and usage in exploring many types of writing.  Emphasis will be placed on developing and applying effective writing styles through extensive practice.  Students will spend much time reading, planning, writing, and revising.

In order to support the social studies curriculum and to further students’ knowledge of Canada, discussions and readings will include topics that deal with Canadian current events, history, and geography.
