Hey Cambie, it’s Wellness Wednesday. Today we want to take a minute to remember that wellness is for everyone, regardless of gender and background. We would also like to say a special thanks and a shout out to the Brothers Helping Others for stepping up to help promote mental health in our Cambie community. Last week BHO had a sit down with Dr. Narang to ask their questions about mental health. Keep an eye out around the school for the QR codes to access the videos they compiled as a result. Learn more about how others are impacted by mental health and how you can take better care of your own mental health.
Here is today’s announcement. If you haven’t been very active lately, start with small, realistic goals, in order to set yourself up for success. For example: if you haven't exercised in a while, a short-term goal might be to walk 10 minutes a day five days a week. Even short amounts of exercise can have benefits. Or give rewards every time after each exercise session. This type of internal reward can help you make a long-term commitment to regular exercise. For more information on how you can improve your sleeping habits, visit foundrybc.ca, or see Ms. Wilding in the counselling centre.
This is a reminder that all library books are now overdue. Please get these into the library as soon as possible. Also, final textbook collection will be taking place this week, with the deadline for handing in textbooks being Wednesday, June 23. In addition to quarter 4 textbooks, make sure you have handed in any outstanding textbooks from quarters 1-3 to avoid paying lost charges. Thank you.
