Hey Cambie! Peace Club and POCA would like to take the time to recognize that it is Black History Month. Every February, people in Canada are encouraged and welcomed to partake in Black History Month festivities. Black History Month is an ongoing event throughout the month to recognize and honour the legacies of black Canadians and the black community. Peace Club will be sharing important facts throughout the rest of the month as we feel it is important for everyone to learn about these significant, historical events. Did you know that Jean Augustine was the first b lack woman elected to the House of Commons! This happened in 1993, which is only 28 years ago. Thanks for listening, Cambie!
Attention Grade 12 Students! UBC is still accepting applications for some programs! If you missed the January 15th application deadline, UBC has just sent out information regarding a few programs that are still accepting applications. These degrees may close their application at any time without notice, so students must submit applications as soon as possible! See Ms. Millar's Facebook page for details!
Hello everyone! Peace Club is hosting a glove/sock/hygiene drive until Monday. There are three bins out in the rotunda for you to donate a pair of socks, gloves or some sort of hygiene produce like toothbrushes or paste. Any size items, mini or full size, are appreciated! Items donated need to be new, not used. All of the donations we collect will be going into care packages for the homeless or people struggling that need help within shelters. One donation can make a huge difference in someone’s life, so please bring your donations to the clearly labelled bins in the rotunda. Thank you, Cambie!
Attention grade 12 students. You have until the end of today to get the video screen for your yearbook. The cost is $15. Please see Mr. Hofmann in room A115.
The Cambie Library is pleased to once again participate in the Richmond Reading Riot. The contest runs until April 30. It's easy to join! Read as many of the 9 titles as you can. After you finish each book, fill out a ballot in the library. Every Friday, a ballet is drawn and one participant wins a prize, so come and join in on the fun!
