Strong Start: Student Orientation at Cambie! Septemer 10-11, 2020

Welcome to Strong Start: Student Orientation at Cambie! Cambie is going to be your second home for the next year, and we want to make sure that you feel safe and secure, so that you can meet all your educational goals for the year.

Students should have received their schedules via email on Tuesday, September 8, 2020. Student will get a paper copy of their schelude during their orientation on Thursday, September 10th  or Friday, September 11th.  

We are very excited for the start of the school year and the first quarter of our “Copernican Schedule.” 

Below are details of the orientation.

  • Grade 8 Students will have a 90-minute orientation session on Sept. 10th and 11th, 2020. 
  • Grade 9-12 Students will have a 60-minute orientation session on Sept. 10th or 11th, 2020. 
  • Please ensure that students arrive and are picked up promptly.

  2. Message from Administration via Team 
  3. Distribution of Forms and discussion of the new 4 Quarters Schedule

                       Homeroom teachers will review:

  • Student timetables
  • School Schedule
  1. Health and Safety (using the PowerPoint)
  • Review Health and Safety protocols for safely attending Cambie including: Entering/exiting the school, lunch for 8s/9s, handwashing, masks, physical distancing, break, end of day, etc.
  1. Strong Start: Engagement and Wellness?
  • Stay healthy, balanced, and focused. Tips on self-care, mental and physical health, and maintaining balance in your life.
  • Be prepared to engage. Develop good habits (arrive on time, be organized, etc). Success comes to those that are prepared.
  • Get involved. Want more out of your education? Get involved at Cambie find your passion with student-created clubs, teams, etc.
