Student Notices - June 3, 2019

A new “Ready to Succeed” list has been posted on the office window.  We would like to thank those students who make the effort to arrive on time and ready and prepared to learn!  Let’s finish the year strong, Cambie!

Last call for CCC helpers and ambassadors for this Thursday evening’s event.   Please see Mrs. Wilding today to sign up.  There will be a mandatory meeting tomorrow at lunch.

Any grade 10 or 11 students interested in volunteering at RAPS Animal. Hospital or RAPS cat sanctuary, please come to an orientation meeting on Tuesday, June 4th at lunch in room D215.  Responsible students who are committed would be perfect for these volunteer positions.

Attention Cambie students:  please note that all books borrowed from the library are due this Wednesday, June 5th.  Please be sure to return any outstanding library books by the end of day, Wednesday.

Best of luck to the Grade 9 Boys Volleyball Team who play in the Vancouver and District Championships today at McRobert’s.  They have their first game at 4:00pm against Burnaby South.  Good luck to the team!

There will be open gym basketball tonight at 5:00pm for any boys in grades 8-11 interested in playing.

Looking for volunteer hours?  On June 23rd there is a great opportunity to show your support to raise money through the event RIDE DON’T HIDE.  Ride Don’t Hide is a nationwide event that brings mental health out into the open.  Students who volunteer as a route marshal or supporting riders at the Richmond water station will receive a T-shirt, certificate, snacks and lunch.  All those interested, please see Mrs. Wilding today!  It would be great to have a team from Cambie to support this event.  Cyclists are also wanted for this great event!  Join us for the eighth annual Ride Don’t Hide on June 23, 2019, in over 25 communities across Canada. Ride Don’t Hide is the largest mental health bike ride in Canada with almost 10,000 riders and hundreds more family members, friends and volunteers across Canada taking part, raising more than $2 million each year for the Canadian Mental Health Association.  Get on your bike and joint the movement.  Ride.  Don’t hide.  Please see Mrs. Wilding today if you would like to join her in supporting this event by being a rider or walker.  5km & 10km routes available!
