Attention Cambie volunteers:  Service Hour Forms are now available in the office.  In order to be recognized for service at our Awards night, you must submit this completed form to the office by this Thursday, April 18th.


Attention Grade 12s:  This is your last chance to apply for school-based and McEwen family scholarships.  Please do not miss this wonderful opportunity to be rewarded some money to support your post-secondary dreams.  The hard deadline is this Thursday, April 18th at 4pm.


Who is excited for the LONDON-PARIS TRIP in 2021?!  There will be a parent and student information meeting tonight @ 6pm in the Library.  This trip is open to ALL current Grade 9 and 10 students.  For more details, please see Mme Masaki or Ms. Faryon.


Unity Club will be meeting today in room A121, Ms. Tan’s class, at lunch.  Looking forward to seeing you there!


Anyone interested in getting their Standard First Aid and/or First Responder Certifications, there are registration forms and schedules in the main office.  Just a reminder, a Standard First Aid certification is an excellent employability skill to have when looking for employment or volunteer opportunities for the summer. See Mrs. Curtis if you have any questions.


The meeting planned for next year’s Health Science students who were interested in getting their work experience package early has been postponed until next weeks’ PLT due to an Aquarium field trip.  However, anyone who missed the start-up meeting, please feel free to see Mrs. Curtis during PLT this Thursday


Earth Week fun fact!  Did you know that one in every three bites of food depends on bees for pollination?  Join the Ecosaders next Tuesday, April 23rd in the rotunda for a flower planting workshop at lunch!


Attention all Cambie students – the two champion improv groups from Ms. Preston’s drama 10-12 classes will be having an epic improv battle on stage, Tuesday, April 23rd at lunch in the drama room.  Seating is limited so get there right away.  Everyone is welcome.


The SFU Next Step Information Session is April 17 for students who will be attending the Surrey Campus and April 25th for those attending the Burnaby Campus.


The University of Alberta will be in Vancouver on April 17th for an evening information session for grade 10 and 11 students.


There will be a meeting for We For She today at lunch in Ms. Faryon’s room.


Are you a girl in grade 8-12 who is interested in Computing or Engineering Science and the field of technology?  SFU Try/CATCH 2019 is a free, one-day event on May 4th, where students participate in a variety of enriching activities focusing on developing skills in areas such as programming, robotics and other computing-related aspects.  See the Career Centre Website for details and Ms. Millar if you have any questions.


Hey Cambie students!  Come and participate in Cambie's Reading Riot: Richmond's Teen Readers' Choice Award for 2018-2019.  The contest is now into its final month, but it's never too late to join!  Just register in the library.  There are 8 books in total.  Read and rate as many as you can by April 30th.  At the end of April, secondary teacher-librarians across Richmond will tally up the votes and declare one book to be a district-wide winner.  Every Friday, a ballet is drawn and one participant wins a prize, so come and join in on the fun! 


Hey Grade 8’s!  Are you tired of working so hard and in need of a break?  Well, lucky for you, the Rec. 12’s are bringing back the Grade 8 Carnival!  There will be popcorn, cotton candy, carnival games and of course, prizes.  The best thing about all of this is that it’s all FREE!  Come out to Gym A afterschool on April 25th.  Don’t miss out!


Hey Cambie, the Ecosaders are hosting an event called Lights out Lunch this week to help save energy at our school. We will be turning off the lights in the rotunda and hallways during lunch. Today, the Ecosaders will also be going around our school during lunch with questions for our campaign.  Answer a question for a chance to win a prize!


Any basketball players interested in improving their skills, there will be a training session tonight.  Tonight’s session will start at 5:30pm.


Any athletes who have returned their jerseys this year, and have not yet picked up their deposit cheques, are welcome to pick them up from Ms.  Yip today at lunch.
