Richmond is a respectful, safe, caring and connected community that values individual differences.
Richmond School District is a member of the Respectful Cities Committee in partnership with the City of Richmond and various community partners. We are once again sponsoring the Pink Day Erase Bullying Poster Contest for Pink Day (February 27, 2019). Please see attachment for submission details.
This initiative is created to combat bullying in Richmond. Bullying is a reality in the lives of many young people, affecting their education, connections and opportunities to have a safe and healthy journey into adulthood. According to the McCreary Centre Society 2013 Adolescent Health Survey, youth who were teased, excluded, or assaulted in the previous year were more likely to report skipping class in the past month, more likely to have seriously considered suicide and were less likely to report good or excellent mental health.
The theme this year is Erase Bullying: Create Connection and we invite Richmond school district students and classes to create and submit posters that reflect this theme.
Due Date for posters to be uploaded is November 9, 2018
