  1. Reminder that tomorrow is photo retake day.   All students wanting to retake their photos must bring their ID card to the camera. (Translink only allows 1 active card).   If you are returning your photo packages, please give them to photographer.   Anyone new or missed original photo day are welcome for a photo on retake day.

     

  2. Senior Boys Basketball tryouts are this Wednesday and Thursday at 7:00.   Any boys in grades 9-12 interested in trying out for the team are welcome.

     

  3. There is a very important swim team meeting today at recess in Rm D217.   Every swim team member must be in attendance.

     

  4. Auditions auditions auditions!!!!   Auditions for the spring productions of Departures and Arrivals will be October 16th and 18th after school in the drama room.  Please see the drama room door for more information and see Ms. Preston if you have any questions.

     

  5. Did you know that World Mental Health Day is observed on 10 October every year? The overall objective is to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and mobilize efforts in support of mental health.  This year the theme is Mental Health in the workplace – as you move into adulthood more and more of you time is spent at work.  Experiences in the workplace is one of the factors that determines our overall wellbeing.While you may not be working yet for youth it is important to recognize that our experience at school is a factor that contributes to our mental health.  A negative environment can lead to physical and mental challenges – if you are are experiencing difficulties reach out for support. Counsellors, teachers and parents are all available to support you.  Start a conversation today.

     

  6. Calling all CCC HELPERS and last years' Grade 8 ambassadors (now grade 9!)We would like to meet with you next Wednesday Oct 11 at lunch to get our group going.  If you have a friend or 2 who you think is a strong candidate for this year's CCC, please bring them to the meeting!They will go through a screening and interview process.  See you there, next Wednesday!From your friendly counsellors!

     

  7. Hey Cambie! Dance team will be holding auditions afterschool today at the Community Centre Studio until 4:30pm. Come out and show off your moves!

     

  8. Are you considering Kwantlen Polytechnic University?  Attention grade 11 and 12 students!  A KPU Rep will be here for an important lunch time information session on Fri Oct 13 in the downstairs computer lab. See Ms. Millar in the Career Centre if you have any questions.

     

  9. Cambie Youth Clinic is a free and confidential health clinic for youth. It is open today and every Tuesday from 2-4 pm at the East Richmond Community hall. You may drop in or make an appointment to see a nurse, doctor or counsellor.

     

  10. Cambie Community Centre’s Fall Family Fun event needs you! We are looking for a crew to help decorate the East Richmond Community Hall and also volunteers to help run the event. Sign up at icanhelp.richmond.ca or come to the Centre and ask for Tatiana.
